REAL GREEN ALBERTA
Initiative
Our goal is to prepare and inform Alberta’s real estate sector about the changes to building codes and other regulatory mechanisms put in place to achieve municipal, provincial and federal net-zero targets in the built environment. Our work aims to contribute to long-term energy literacy and awareness development among real estate professionals and provide the basis for a permanent dialogue with the growing number of consumers, builders, and financial institutions employing energy efficiency metrics in their decision-making.
We have developed a strategic roadmap for building codes and laid the groundwork for outreach efforts, engaging real estate professionals and industry stakeholders.

EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS
The SAIT Green Building Technology Access Centre and the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley are collaborating to bring Alberta’s real estate industry an interactive workshop on the current and future impact of building code and policy on Alberta’s real estate industry. Join us on Tuesday May 6, 2025, in Canmore for an essential workshop tailored to professionals in the real estate industry as we explore the critical shifts in energy codes and the evolving policies that are shaping the future of real estate in Alberta.
