In May 2025, real estate professionals from across Alberta gathered in Canmore for a pivotal workshop on the future of building and energy codes.

 

Led by SAIT's Green Building Technologies, RFS Energy, and the Biosphere Institute - with funding from AREF and NRCan.

 

The session explored how tiered energy codes, upcoming regulations on existing buildings, and concepts like Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) are reshaping the real estate landscape.

From practical tools to clean energy incentives, the workshop equipped participants with the knowledge to better serve clients and prepare for Alberta’s transition to a more energy-efficient, net-zero built environment.
